Enjoy the nostalgia of this classic game re-created in the original style of the TI-99/4a computer game from the 1980s!
Re-live the era with blocky but colourful graphics and simple but captivating sound effects.
Four cunning Hoonos are in hot pursuit of your Munch Man. Can he make it to an energiser in time to change the attack, or will the Hoonos devour him?
Munch Man challenges you to:
- Score points by connecting passages with a chain
- Score points by capturing Hoonos while your Munch Man is energised
- Avoid being eaten by the Hoonos
Movement on the screen can be controlled by on-screen buttons, swiping in the direction you wish to go anywhere on screen or using a MFI Bluetooth controller.
To play the game, tap the screen or press a direction when “ARE YOU READY?” appears. You start the game with three Munch Men; one in the maze and two at the top of the display. Four Hoonos are ready to escape from the square boxes seconds after the game begins. These Hoonos are tricky, so don’t let them catch your Munch Man or he’ll be eaten!
After your Munch Man leaves the protection of the maze’s centre, he cannot return to this area. In addition, your Munch Man cannot enter an opening into a Hoonos cell.
You may pause the game during play by pressing the on-screen pause button or the pause button on your Bluetooth controller. When the pause screen is displayed, you may select the Hoono logic:
-Munch Man. This means the Hoonos will behave exactly as the original TI-99/4a game.
-Pacman. This means the Hoonos will mimic the behaviour of the "Pacman" ghosts as in the well known arcade game. This adds an interesting spin on the old classic!
Each Hoono has a different intelligence level. The red Hoono has the most intelligence, the yellow has the least and so has the ability to disappear occasionally. Once a level is filled with chain is is completed. There are a total of 60 levels to master, each with varying difficulty, Hoono design and colours.
